Between February 4 and 6 in the sunny Miami, a four-person team from DrOmnibus: Wojtek Bieroński, Sabina Misiarz-Filipek, Rabia Khan and Bartek Opaliński took part in the Autism 2018 conference, organized by ABAI. The event gathered over 800 attendees, including top-class therapists, trainers, consultants, and researchers.
The conference was an opportunity for us not only to receive valuable feedback about our ABA DrOmnibus app from visitors to our booth and to present the possibilities soon to be featured in our product – such as an interactive, keyword-searchable database of educational materials or support for video modelling – but also to make new contacts and participate in workshops and talks. Among the latter, we were particularly interested in the talk by Julie Kornack, Director of Public Policy at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, about the financing of therapy. We asked if it is possible to cover the purchase of multimedia tools needed for therapy from insurance. You can watch a stream from the talk and the answer to our question on Facebook (part 1, part 2, and part 3). To quote Julie Kornack,
“All we want is standard of care and best practices be the same thing.”
– and that is why we are always eager to hear from the users of ABA DrOmnibus about how we can further improve the app and adjust it to their needs.
Our visit to the conference was a definite success. On the final day, we were able to share our experiences and strengthen our new bonds during the Dinner Party Cruise – in beautiful, sunny weather, as expected from Florida! We are looking forward to taking part in future conferences. We will keep you informed!
